Bitcoin spiking above $100,000 Thursday morning in Asia, following one during the U.S. afternoon on Wednesday, before subsequently retreating.

Bitcoin remains in a consolidation pattern since hitting a record high of 108,000 in mid-December,

putting in a series of lower highs. The spark for its next breakout may be the Monday, January 20th

inauguration of President Trump. Matt Mena, a crypto research strategist at 21 shares, saying Trump's well-documented support

for pro-growth policies and his track record for favoring asset price appreciation further

reinforces the bullish outlook for Bitcoin and risk assets more broadly.

The bullish forecast is consistent with a rally in traditional assets,
