Bitcoin approaching $70,000 in lifting the broader crypto markets.

Bitcoin rising above $69,000 at the start of the Asian morning before retreating slightly

above the $68,000 threshold during the U.S. morning open Monday.

BTC's jump led to higher prices throughout the rest of the crypto markets, with Solana

rising nearly 5% to $166.50. The broader digital asset market, as measured by the CoinDest 20,

is almost 2% higher in the last 24 hours.

Traders' attention is increasingly turning to the U.S. election, now barely two weeks away,

with the pro-Crypto Republican candidate Donald Trump heavily favored on prediction site,

polymarket.

QCB capital, saying risk assets such as Bitcoin are expected to be aided by macroeconomic factors

in Japan and China.

Ethereum creator Vitalik Boudarin warning in a blog post that centralization on the layer

one blockchain's proof-of-stake model carries significant risks, like 51% attacks, transaction

censorship and value extraction, where a small group captures value

that would otherwise go to Ethereum's users. He outlines a new path for Ethereum as part of the

Scourge upgrade. A key solution he proposes includes an encrypted mempool, which would make it

more challenging for block proposers to censor certain transactions.

This follows Buren's previous merge and surge upgrade proposals, which includes the ambitious

goal of achieving 100,000 transactions per second on Ethereum.
