This is Hiraway from geopolitics and Empire. This is Mike from the parallel systems

broadcast. We have a ton to talk about since our last show. I learned a new

acronym, taco, Trump always chickens out. So Trump gave Iran an ultimatum that if you don't capitulate

to our demands, we're going to open the Straits of Hormuz, which seems like a suicide mission.

He couldn't get Europe to get on board. So then I believe somebody, not Iran, popped off on Diego Garcia Island, this refueling station and other things in the middle of nowhere, to prove that Europe is in danger from Iran.

But that didn't seem to make a big splash. Europe is not coming to the rescue of the Straits of Hormuz. It would be a shooting

gallery. They Trump, so the deadline was Tuesday. The deadline passed. Trump capitulated or withdrew

or whatever, but of course didn't put it that way. Rumors are that he wants to go into

Karg Island, which would be another shooting gallery. It's heavily

defended by Iran. It's completely within range of their missiles, so that would be bad too.

Yet, the U.S. is sending 3,000 Marines into the area, and I think the implication is it's

Karg Island. I think they implication is it's Karg Island.

I think they might be going to Djibouti, which is across from Yemen.

There's another strait over there that, if closed, would prevent traffic from going in

and out of the Suez Canal.

So that's a very serious issue.

The Straits of Hormuz are clogging up, slowing down

so many vital resources from oil to, as Mike's recent episode talked about the components of

fertilizer. If they actually also closed off the straits next to Yemen between Yemen and Djibouti,

that would really screw up the
