Summary

Take Shelter! As I record this coffee chat, our office is under a tornado watch! How timely? If anyone in our community finds themselves dealing with a natural disaster or unexpected event, I have created a space for us to come together and give or get support! The community was able to help victims of Hurricane Helene and now I want for all of us to be able to help or get help in those circumstances. But not all hard seasons of life are because of a natural disaster. So I am calling this a relief group. I want you to be able to raise your hand and be vulnerable to say “I need some help!” It’s the Organize 365® Relief Group.

I also know the value of having medical information accessible on paper in the event you need to evacuate quickly or go take care of a loved one. In episode 651 - Productive Disaster Preparation and Relief, I went over an Emergency Go Bag and a packed overnight bag/suitcase plus additional ways to just be prepared for unexpected events. And you can ask for items you may need. The way I see it, we all have enough stuff. If someone needs something you have in storage, you can simply ship it to them. You may not really want to throw that thing away, you’d rather donate it. And nothing feels better than giving to someone in need, knowing you helped in some way.

1:19.4	lives that are harder than others, and there will be seasons where we feel relatively in control
1:26.4	and unscathed with the unexpected events that happen throughout a lifetime.
1:32.0	And these podcasts and this new group that we're starting called the Relief Group are designed for
1:38.9	those of you who happen upon some unexpected events, whether you're prepared for them or not. Once you're in the
1:47.0	unexpected event, it may be a natural disaster. It may be, you know, personal like a housefire.
1:52.9	It may be, you know, just a really trying time where you have a lot of dependence on you who are
1:59.7	hospitalized or sick or you're their power of attorney or maybe you're
2:03.9	planning their funeral and settling their estate, we are all going to go through these seasons.
2:08.7	And having been through some of these seasons myself, I know that they feel very, very lonely.
2:15.9	Lonely because, I mean, who are you going to talk to about this, right? You can't
2:19.1	necessarily talk to your family and friends about it. You don't want to talk to your colleagues
2:22.1	about it. You might a little bit with your colleagues, but you don't want to just be the person
