So it's a Sunday episode and I'm very pleased to be airing volume two of this new

Character Studies series that started last week. If you're new to the show, or you missed

last Sunday, Character Studies is a new series on this podcast in which I interview civilians. So these are not authors or journalists

or poets or playwrights or any kind of media figures. These are people who have nothing to

promote and they are appearing on this program anonymously, either by first name or pseudonym. So conversations with

ordinary human beings talking with me candidly about their lives and so far so good. There was a

great response to volume one, my conversation last week with Sophia, age 34, a customer success manager from Texas.

And it's just been really gratifying.

I've wanted to do character studies on this show for a long time.

I got the idea for this series a long time ago, but what always stopped me from trying it out was the issue of how to find guests week after week.

And I finally reached out to listeners and to like other people, Patreon supporters.

And I asked for referrals and I got some referrals.
