I was reading an article this morning, an article in National Review, written by the editors

or the senior editorial staff of National Review, about what happened this past Friday.

When House Democrats united, united behind legislation enshrining in federal law a virtually unlimited right

to kill a baby through all nine months of pregnancy.

There was only one Democrat who voted to kill this, this radical abortion bill.

An abortion bill deceitfully named Women's Health Protection Act,

but an abortion bill that is nothing short in reality of barbarism.

The bill, H.R. 3755, requires, requires states to allow non-physicians

to perform abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy. So not just doctors can do this, but

non-doctors can do this heinous act of barbarism. The article points out that the U.S. is only

one of seven nations on earth that allows elective abortions

later than 20 weeks of pregnancy. The article concludes that we are now in league with

North Korea, Vietnam, and communist China in this act of horrendous barbarism.

I was thinking as I read this article about what a British philosopher John Stuart Mill said in regard to evil. Now, by the way, John Stuart Mill was hardly a Christian.

He was a naturalist, and he died a religious skeptic. But he did have the wisdom to say this,

bad men need nothing more to further their plans than that good men should look on and do nothing.

Or to repeat the off-quoted adage, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing.

In this regard, I think of the words of King Solomon. Words that I memorized a long time ago,

they're in the first chapter of the book of Proverbs, where King Solomon says,

My son, if sinners entice you, don't consent. If they say, come with us, let us lie in wait for blood. And there's a lot of blood in abortion.
