A group of customers staggered out into the humid midnight air, the bell over the door jingling yet again.

Nathan swirled the last sip of his old-fashioned in his glass.

Watching as Lila flipped the lock and turned, her smirk lazy and knowing.

Another drink?

She asked, though the way she leaned against the bar told him she already knew his answer. Nathan exhaled, setting his

glass down. You trying to get me drunk. Lila laughed, low and sultry. You think you need to be?

She moved around the bar,

hips swaying beneath the snug black dress and skirt

that had been distracting him all night.

The way it hugged her curves,

the way her dark hair spilled over one shoulder.

It had taken every ounce of his self-control not to stare.

Now, with the bar empty and the air between them thick with something unspoken, he let himself look,

really look. Lila perched on the stool beside him, the scent of citrus and

vanilla teasing his senses. I've seen you watching me. Nathan chuckled, dragging a hand through his hair.

Hard not to.

"'So what's stopping you?'

She asked, tilting her head, eyes flashing in the dim light.

For a moment, he thought about playing coy,

but something in her gaze dared him not to.

Instead, he reached out, fingers brushing her thigh, feeling the warmth of her skin through the fabric.

She didn't flinch, didn't pull away. If anything, she leaned closer.
