Yo welcome into the house of L podcast. I am Lauren Tom. Thanks so much for hanging out here with me.

0:25.7

My hope is that you click on both of the reviews. But if this is the only one you cared about, that's totally fine.

0:36.7

I figured I would split them up instead of putting them in the same episode and forcing people to hear about a movie that they didn't necessarily care about.

0:46.7

But I spent the weekend at the movies. I went to the movies twice this past weekend because there were two movies that I was really interested in seeing.

0:56.7

The first one is the one that we're going to discuss here cocaine bear cocaine bear.

1:05.7

And then I went and saw Ant Man and Wasp Quantum Mania, which is in the other episode.

1:12.7

And you can go right to that if you prefer or you can just listen to my review of cocaine bear.

1:20.7

Neither one of these, well, I can't say that for Ant Man Quantum Mania because there's so much other stuff connected to it.

1:29.7

But the cocaine bear review, I'm not going to belabor it. I'm just going to tell you about the time that I had the movie that it was and what I think happens next.

1:42.7

So I get a text from my best friend, Sophia. She says, hey, I want to go see that cocaine bear movie.

1:49.7

I say, yeah, it's on my list of things that I want to do too. So let's go.

1:54.7

We both luckily, like our schedule is almost never match up like this, but our schedule matched up for Friday after I was done with the radio show she was done producing the television shows that she works on over at WCIU.

2:11.7

So we're both near or in downtown. So block 37 kind of becomes the meeting place where we go and see movies.

2:22.7

I really like block 37. It's a little bit more expensive, but I can literally walk on in the pedway.

2:30.7

If it's cold, if it's nice out, I get a nice walk outside, but I can walk the pedway from the score studios to block 37 in like 15 minutes.

2:40.7

And it's nice and easy and I go, it's nine, 15 minutes more like 10 minutes, 10 minutes is nice and easy and I'm right there and good to go.

2:50.7

So she was interested in cocaine bear. I was interested because we have been talking about it on the show.

2:56.7

Dan and I had discussed this from the trailer of the movie, like the concept of the movie. Now, if you don't know, the story is loosely and loosely is doing a lot of things.

3:09.7

You want a lot of heavy lifting here loosely based on a true story where there was a large amount of cocaine that was found in the mountains by a bear and the bear ingested the cocaine and sadly in the real life story.

3:27.7

I guess I shouldn't say sadly compared to what it was in the movie, but sadly the bear died of an overdose because it's cocaine.

3:37.7

And the bear and bears don't do cocaine. So as you can imagine, the doing copious amounts of cocaine, what it might do to a bear's heart, it stopped it.

3:54.7

So that bear died, but that was the jumping off point and with the idea of being and I like it like it's a creative idea of what would happen if the bear got high off the cocaine and kept craving the cocaine and then went on a spree went on a killing spree.
