Summary

A day late and several dollars short, episode 96 of the Co-Main Event Podcast finally makes its way to the streets on Tuesday, after a 24 hour delay caused by Ben Fowlkes’ duties as a newspaperman for U.S. Today. Perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise however, as the tardiness gives Ben and Chad the opportunity to discuss Chris Weidman’s injury and the rescheduling of his middleweight title fight against Lyoto Machida. In addition, the guys look back at Dan Henderson’s win over Shogun Rua at UFC Fight Night 38, the banishment of Will Chope from the UFC roster as well as the happenings of Bellator 113 (yes, they watched it). 1:00.6	about this that's what i'm hearing pretty much for the whole hour yep okay well see what had
1:05.8	happened was i had to do a newspaper story uh and it came together rather late in the day because that's just like when I was able to get the interviews that I needed to do the story.
1:17.2	And then I had to rush and get it done in time for the deadline.
1:21.2	And I think it's worth noting not that I'm blaming anybody, but Chad, you have a pretty narrow window on Mondays during which you can record this podcast before you have to go pick up your daughter and, you know, be a good father or whatever the hell.
1:35.5	Yeah, don't try to put this on me.
1:37.0	So, you know, I could have done it after the newspaper deadline, but then you had to actually care for your child.
1:43.1	So that kind of ruled that out.
1:45.0	And then the hell of it is, right after I get my story done, the news drops that Chris
1:49.8	Widman is going to have to have knee surgery, that bout is postponed. And so my story gets
1:54.3	bumped out of the paper for that newsier item. So basically, it was all for nothing. Nothing
2:00.4	means anything. You know, the world is just
2:03.8	an empty chasm. Just the trials and tribulations of the newspaper business, I suppose.
