Ben, the completely insane nature of the MMA news cycle has once again

caused us to completely abandon our normal format. Yep, I'm into it. You'll recall, Ben, that when we

last recorded the CME, uh, we were feeling lucky because Tony Ferguson had just pulled out of UFC

223, which at this point

feels like it happened about six lifetimes ago. Yeah, we were so young then. We thought maybe

the MMA gods had smiled upon us because they cut us a break because that had happened on a

Sunday night. Yeah, lucky us. Nothing else could happen, right? Instead of happening on a Tuesday,

like when news normally breaks right after we

release the show, little did we know, Ben, that Tony Ferguson dropping out was just the

fucking tune-up.

Yeah, that was the M.MA gods doing the thing where they, like, stretch out their quads

before you get ready to run a street race.

Yeah, Tony Ferguson dropping out was the MMA gods slamming two beers before they even drive to work in the morning.

That's what it was.

Wow, that got a little darker than I was planning, but okay.

I mean, you know those guys are rolling into work.
