Summary

After another week where the Co-Main Event Podcast was off again, your dudes are back in full effect this week with a super-sized episode of the CME. On this show, Ben and Chad are in a mad scramble to touch on all the stuff they missed while taking a week off. Turns out, there was a lot of shit going on. For one thing, the long-discussed boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor actually got confirmed. So, that was kind of a big deal. On top of that, two UFC events are in the books, with Mark Hunt defeating Derrick Lewis and Holly Holm taking out Bethe Correia, respectively. Then, there is this weekend's Bellator PPV card to try to get our arms around AND a Sunday UFC event to discuss. Oh, and on top of that the Mixed Martial Arts Journalists Association finally went public too, and both your dudes are on the interim board of directors. As a result this episode of the CME will be broken into two parts for your listening enjoyment. Don't forget to download both parts! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

You're listening to the co-main event podcast, and now your hosts, Ben Folks and Chad Dundas.

0:17.6

That's right, you're listening to another episode of the co-main event mixed martial arts podcast.

I'm your co-host from BleacherReport.com, Chad Dunderson, joining me as always from MMA, junkie and USA.

Today, it's your friend and mine, Mr. Ben, folks, Ben, uh, since we didn't get our show in last week, we got a lot

0:39.8

of shit going on this week. A lot of shit. Hashtag, a lot of shit going on. Which is, and look,

0:44.0

I'm going to take the heat for this. It was my fault that we canceled the show last week. I had to go

0:47.7

on vacation with my family, kind of a, what I would describe as a classic Ben Folks type situation, but this time I was to blame.

0:55.7

I want it, surprisingly, for the record that when we were emailing back and forth about this and you were saying like, okay, well, you didn't leave until Sunday, like at noon or something.

1:05.4

And I said, hey, well, I leave Sunday morning. We could, there's an event Saturday night. We could record a podcast on Sunday morning. You sent me back a gif of the lady saying, ain't nobody got time for that. Which was the truth, the absolute truth. I mean, I assume that when your family goes on vacation, you don't handle any of the packing, logistical planning that has to go into it. You just sit on a couch drinking three fingers of whiskey and smoking a cigar waiting for your

wife to come in and say, it's time for you to get in your booster seat.

1:34.2

I'm warming up the car six hours beforehand.

2:01.9

Ain't nobody got time for that. So here we are this week, right, Ben? I guess. In full effect. And in fact, as a way of making amends this week to our listening audience that was left in the lurch last week, we're going to do something we've never really done before. And that is a three-round yet supersized, we think, episode of the co-main event podcast. That's right, because there's a lot

2:08.1

of different topics to cover. I mean, we could have gone five rounds here, but also there's a lot

2:12.1

of different topics that demand different levels of attentions. We figure, you know what, we got

2:16.8

a lot of good listener mail. Why don't we just dive

2:19.5

in to a whole bunch of listener mail to cover
