Good evening from the newsroom, topping our CNN global coverage tonight with the updated

results just in the president's meltdown over California's primary, claims yet again with no

evidence presented of rigged elections. Now, keep it am honest, there's certainly plenty to take issue with.

Here are the numbers in the L.A. Mayor's race, and CNN can now project that Mayor Karen Bass and city councilwoman Nithia Rahman will go on to the runoff in November, defeating Trump Act former reality show star Spencer Pratt.

But it took six days to get there. That's because California allows mail-in ballots to be counted if they're postmarked by election day and arrive by tomorrow.

That's why this took so long and is taking so long for other races.

No one disputes that.

Plenty people don't like it.

Some even believe it invites mistrust in elections.
