My name is Carrie Newhoff. I hope our time together today helps you lead like never before.

Well, we're celebrating this week because we got a brand new course on communication out there,

which is an all in one resource

called the art of better preaching that Mark Clark and I put together. I'll explain a little bit

more about that in a moment, but I thought we'd focus on communication because you know what?

Communication is something every leader has to do. You're like well I'm not a preacher I never

have to I get that a lot of you you're not preachers but every time you open your mouth you're

leading and I mean if you're making a presentation in a boardroom if you're

trying to cast vision to a team if you're trying to mobilize volunteers if you're

trying to motivate your staff there are ways to do it that are effective

and then ways to do it that are ineffective.

And here's a little challenge for you.

Okay, somebody once told me years ago and I think they're right.

The church has the best communicators in the world and I think that's true. I mean watch the average politician

whether that's at the you know gubernatorial level or the Premier or Prime Minister or President

even even you know, the mayoral level in municipal politics. Most politicians are not great speakers.

They're just not.

And sometimes that really, you know, you look at a John F. Kennedy or

...
