Well hey everybody and welcome to episode 229 of the podcast.

My name is Carrie Newhoff and I hope our time together today

helps you lead like never before.

Well, this is fun to have Larry Osborne back on the podcast,

but what's really fun is that a couple

weeks ago I spent well the better part of three days with him in San Diego and a

handful of other leaders and it was it was incredible you know I've taught with

Larry before we've spoken at the same conferences I've interviewed them for this

podcast but it was the most time we've ever spent together and you know it's really nice it's nice when

your respect for somebody grows after you spend time with them not diminishing and I have pages of

notes from things that Larry said over those three days and others obviously in the room that were so great.

I want to share one with you before we jump into today's episode that isn't covered by this interview,

which I think you're going to love.

But Larry we were talking about like developing senior leaders and he's been at

this for decades now and he said you know where a lot of leaders struggle he says and

this is true in business it's true in the church he said we end up with like

vice presidents or you know executive pastors or ministry directors but he says what every church needs is at least one

co-pilot and he used the analogy of a transatlantic flight so you know if you're

flying to Europe guess what there are four are four copilots in the cockpit, in the flight deck.
