Well hey everybody and welcome to episode 188 of the podcast.

My name is Carrie Newhoff and I hope our time together today helps you lead like never before.

Well I'm excited to be doing a deep dive today into the whole question of just quitting in leadership because this is a huge issue.

I don't know if this happened to you in seminary, but I know it did do a lot of people.

It was sort of like look to your left, look to your right. Only

one of you is going to be doing this 30 years from now. And the thing that bothers me is

I think a lot of people quit their calling before God is done with them. That's why I'm really passionate about bringing you today's guest,

Jessica Beeler, Gina McClain, they have done what is actually one of the most complex jobs in any church, which is kids ministry, next-gen

ministry.

I know in the past, like probably when you grew up, you know, it didn't seem to get a whole lot

of attention, but if you look at the

complexity of leadership the next-gen position as we talked about before is actually

one of the most demanding positions that you can have in the church. And these two have done it for a combined number of decades that they talk about

and they've done it while raising young families.

Both of them are moms, both of them are highly, highly highly skilled capable leaders.

And we talk about some things that frankly guys we need to talk more about, but we don't.

They talk about self-esteem and how that impacts leadership and I mean they talk about why

balance is a joke and how to get it all done and how to develop more resilience you know that's something David

Kinnaman was on this podcast last year and we talked about that is the difference
