Kerry Newhoff and I hope our time together today helps you lead like never

before well you know what I love I I love like long form conversation. I think that's one of the things that we've kind of lost or are losing in our culture today.

It's one of the reasons that, you know, I love doing things that are just everybody says won't work.

I know a lot of you are like that. People say it won't work. You're like, ah, I'm going to make it work.

So when I started blogging seriously about four and a half years ago, I remember lots of people said man nobody will read over three or four hundred words and I decided to write posts that were at first 800 words and a thousand.

Often a lot of my blog posts, which you can find by the way at lead like never before

dot com, just click on blog.

Now they're pushing like 1,500, 2,000 words and they get read tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds

of thousands of times.

And it's crazy, it's like people read that stuff.

Same with this podcast, people said it has to be 17 minutes or 22 minutes because that's the

length of the commute I'm like I just think good conversations take longer than

that and and so you know went out there on a limb almost three years ago and started this podcast with, you know, hour long episodes, sometimes longer and man, you guys, you guys have been great.

So part of that is just a passion I've got around long form thought

and long form thinking.

I'm spending this summer, the summer of 2017,

writing my next book, which will be a longer book and today's guest

Barnipas Piper just reminds me of why I think that's such an important

commitment we've got an hour long conversation, okay?
