My name is Carrie Newhoff and I hope our time together today helps you lead like never before.

Well, I've been excited for a long time to bring you this episode and a couple of guests. In fact this has been about I think a year in the making.

It was about a year ago that Warren Bird let me know that he and Carl George were re-releasing and updating a book that I've probably talked

about more than any other leadership book in the church world just it's sort of my

number one referral for people and it's something that I came across

when I was a young leader back in the mid 1990s starting out in three very stuck

declining and then suddenly rapidly growing mainline churches and we became very fast growing

and we went from like a handful in attendance to a hundred to a hundred and fifty to two

hundred and eventually in that church went on to be 7 or 800 on the weekend.

And I was trying to figure out how to break church growth barriers and for, I can't even remember

how I got it, but I picked up the very first edition of how to break

church growth barriers by Carl George and Warren Bird. And it doesn't teach you how to grow your church.

It just shows you some of the barriers you're going to run into if your church is growing.

And I use that book again and again and again.

Led my elders through it, let our team through it, learn the principles, have taught those principles, and Warren told me a year ago,
