A Friday rally on Wall Street. Good evening, mad money fans.

I'm Courtney Reagan. There's no gym tonight, but fear not.

The next 60 minutes will be filled with stockpicks and investing insight.

We begin with today's big market rally that closed out a dizzying week.

The Dow, that was a big winner, gaining 658 points.

That's up more than 2%. The S&P 500 of 1.9% in the NASDAQ, up 201 points.

So what drove the action? Well, expectations that Fed may not be as aggressive as traders thought just yesterday

hopes for signs of a bottom. Wall Street earnings and a bounce back and tech and energy.

Look at some of the moves that we've seen. City of 13% Netflix, up 8% United Health, up 5%.

Bob, the sunny is our man tracking the action as always. And what a day it was Bob.

Yeah, Courtney, Wall Street saved a solid rally, but it wasn't enough to bring the major averages

really back into positive territory up for the week.

Better than expected June retail sales really helped drive the gains early on.

So it was a great, strong food sales, gasoline sales, even furniture sales were a little stronger than expected.

Wall Street welcomed the continued signs that spending was still healthy despite obviously high inflation.

Now that boosted consumer discretionary stocks today. So Beth and Body Works for example,

footlocker, even Signet Jewelers was strong. As well as auto makers like Ford and General Motors,

they also gained steam about 4% up on the day.
