For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns.

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory,

for the marriage of the Lamb has come,

and his bride has made herself ready. It was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen,

bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. Oh, what a picture,

what imagery of the church, the bride of Christ, made ready, ultimately on this day, dressed in fine linen,

bright and pure. Who of us deserves to be dressed like that before the Lord God Almighty? None of us

deserves to be dressed in fine linen, bright, and pure.

Yet we are.

Why?

Because we are the bride of Christ.

We are at, what is the imagery here, the marriage of the lamb, this moment when all who

put their trust in Jesus are fully and perfectly and finally united with him as the one who

became sin for us in order that we might become what? The righteousness of God. We are

clothed in righteousness. Whose righteousness are we clothed in? We're clothed in the righteousness

of Jesus. The only way we could be standing around the throne of God on this day,

and this marriage ceremony, this wedding celebration is by the blood of the lamb. That's the picture.

The marriage of the lamb has come. What is the lamb? The lamb is the one who died, who was

slain, whose blood paid the price
