That's the end of regulation. Gabelli ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Well Hubb doing the honors at the NASDAQ.

Another strong day for stocks to start 2026. The Dow with another record high up nearly 500 points. The S&P 500 also closing at a new record high.

It looks like 6944 as we settle out here. The NASDAQ up two-thirds of 1%.

Another good day for the Russell 2000 as well. That was up more than 1%. As the Dow takes over

leadership from tech, we are seeing materials, industrials. Those are among today's sector leaders.

The Dow transports, which fall in the industrials group, those were also hitting an all-time high today.

Materials continue to be driven higher by rising prices for metals.

Silver, back to $80 an ounce.

Some of what rallied yesterday, however, that's pulling back today.

Energy, the worst performing sector today.

Chevron, off 4%.

Bitcoin, also pausing after rallying to a two-month high.

Right now, as you can see right there, around 92,000 and change. That is the scorecard on Wall Street.
