big rally is blue chips, Apple and United Health tumble. But defensive sectors like utilities and

real estate climb, it looks like all the major averages finishing slightly lower. That's the

scorecard on Wall Street, but the action is just getting started.

But we start with Apple.

Among the worst performers in the Dow, the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ 100 today,

turning in its worst day in months on the back of a pair of headlines.

First, a report

from research firm Canalist says Apple's reign at the top of China's smartphone market has

ended with Huawei and Vivo overtaking Apple in 2024. The firm says iPhone sales dropped 25%

in the fourth quarter, capping off four quarters of contraction.

And that news comes as Raymond James puts out a note saying Apple showing signs of technical

weakness, quote, consistent with a new short-term corrective phase taking hold, citing weakening

price momentum, relative strength, stalling, and selling pressure as institutional
