Welcome to Closing Bell. I'm Scott Walker. This make-a-break hour begins with a first half to remember for stocks and whether this market melt up can keep going in the second half of the year.

In the meantime, here's your scorecard with 60 minutes to go in regulation.

A strong day across the board after the Fed's favorite inflation Reed comes in a little

lighter than expected.

Stocks reacting almost immediately,

and it's a broad-based move for the S&P 500,

the index pacing now for its best first half since 2019.

A strong week, too, for energy,

industrials, and financials, and some of those more cyclical areas of the market.

Nice day two for tech. What else is new, right?

Nasdak on the way to its best first six months since 1983.

An incredible 31% gain.

Apple, big part of that,

hitting $3 trillion in market cap again today,

going though for its first close above that key level.

We'll track it of course as we

head towards the end of this session and see if it can hit that milestone.
