Tonight closing arguments in Donald Trump's New York criminal trial the defense

targets Michael Cohen as the prosecution points to a mountain of evidence

as the 11th hour gets underway on this Tuesday night. Good evening once again. I'm Stephanie Rule. We are now 161 days away from the election and we are likely 13 hours away from the election and we are likely 13 hours away from

the first case against a former president going to the jury. Closing arguments

in the case began this morning lasted all day long and

wrapped up just a few hours ago. Both sides made their final please to the

jury of 12 ordinary New Yorkers who are taking on an extraordinary task.

Prosecutors closing their case arguing former President Trump orchestrated a criminal conspiracy

to influence the 2016 election, to pull the wool over voters eyes they say

by ordering the payoff of Stormy Daniels and then covering it all up.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass trying to establish a pattern of Mr. Trump bearing damaging

stories that could derail his 2016 campaign.

Pointing to a key conversation secretly recorded by Mr. Trump's then attorney Michael Cohen, the star prosecution

witness, where Mr. Trump discussed an alleged payoff of a different woman, Steinglass, calling

it jaw dropping.
