credentialed advocate, shall be preserved in perpetuity and which one will be lost to history,

like a George Milias silent on highly combustible film stock.

Because we are all excited about the June 12th release of Disclosure Day,

Stephen Spielberg's return to his seminal subject of extraterrestrial ambassadors.

We're revisiting a pair of films addressing this theme from different perspectives.

Two of Spielberg's most beloved

classics, both seismic hits upon release, both earned Spielberg Academy Award nominations for

Best Director, and they are both among the most personal entries in his sprawling body of work.

But first, let's meet those passionate and highly credentialed advocates. Representing 1977's close encounters of the third kind is Margaret Whiteacamp.

She is the chair of space history at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

She is the curator in charge of the museum's social and cultural history of spaceflight collection,

which includes, among more than 5,000 other artifacts, the five-foot-wide
