We find Jacob who had stolen the blessing from his brother Esau

on the run running for his life.

Dejected, in fact, his own words in Genesis 35 verse 3 is,

I was in distress looking back on this move.

Verse 10 of chapter 28 says, then he departed.

That she butchered and he came to a certain place.

Spent the night there because the sun had set.

And one of the great events of the Bible is recorded in that place.

For this would be the place where he would no longer know of God's second hand.
