0:14.6	So I have a sort of a good number of questions to ask you and I broke them down into different

0:20.5	So let's start with the censorship that's surrounding the topic of climate change
0:25.3	within the realm of climate change science, right?
0:29.5	There is a lot of censorship that goes on, wherein you have a small group, a relatively
0:35.6	small group of scientists who are able to effectively silence their opposition.
0:40.4	Can you explain how that happens in practice?
0:43.5	Well it happens mostly behind the scenes.
0:46.0	Most of these people are very prominent in the climate community having published a large
0:50.6	number of papers and they get a lot of following, they have a lot of social media impact and
0:58.0	so forth.
0:59.0	So they start applying pressure behind the scenes and we saw this in Climategate in 2009 where
1:05.4	this small group of scientists would go behind the scenes, talk to editors, talk to people
1:12.0	who are submitting papers or whatever and try to steer the discussion in a way that they
1:18.9	wanted it to be as opposed to what either the editor or the authors of the paper wanted
1:25.3	it to be.
1:26.8	And it's essentially climate bullying behind the scenes that have been going on.
1:31.5	How does that work exactly?
1:32.9	Because I know, I don't know exactly how medical journals work, but I know how a newspaper
1:38.4	works and I know that if some outside force came to our editors and tried to get them to
1:42.8	change stories, they would just tell them to go take a hike.
