Hello, I'm Nulem McGovern on the BBC World Service,

and this is BBC OS, Conversations on the Climate,

Call Mining.

I have some differing views to share with you today,

from two mining industry workers in the US and Canada,

on the case for continuing with co-use,

to professional ice and rock climbers

on the impact they are seeing from climate change

and extreme weather.

We lost up to 10 meters from some of our glaciers,

like vertical loss from the combination of really high heat

and the California and British Columbia forest fire ash

landing on our glaciers.

I'm recording this latest edition from Glasgow, Scotland,

where I have been at the COP26 climate conference.

And if you're wondering what's it like,

well, it's pretty big, there's 30,000 people here for a start,

and many are united in the demand for change.

One of the key calls for change this past fortnight

has been around getting countries to move away

from using fossil fuels, like coal, oil and gas.
