The Hello everybody and welcome back to Red Menace. So this month is going to be a little

different. Unfortunately my co-host, Allison, and her partner, both

contracted COVID this month. As of right now, they're both okay. Allison was asymptomatic for a while but has since developed symptoms including a dry heavy cough

Making recording of any sort just untenable for right now. So the the introduction to Marxist political

economy is going to have to come next month. I know we've put it off to cover

current events and now we're putting it off because Allison unfortunately got COVID but you know it is what it is we deal with what comes and we and we do our best to keep pumping out good content and it's more important to me and to you I'm sure that Allison and her partner recover and don't have to worry and can rest than it is that we pump out an episode as soon as possible.

So that introduction to Marxist political economy is coming next month. For this month given Allison

being sort of out of commission, for now I'm going to do a couple things at the very

end we're going to release the basically unlock a Patreon episode that

Allison and I did last month it was a Q&A so we just we just feeled a bunch of

different questions and I thought that would be a good way to put a

little end cap on this episode.

But the first half, I'm actually going to be reading from a couple books focused on climate change

and not just any books.

There are two books that I think are the best books I've read on climate change

Ever personally. I'm sure there are great books out there that I haven't read, but these two books are really wonderful.

And I think if you take these two books together, you read both of these books, one fiction,

one non-fiction, I think they present the most likely scenario for what's coming in the next few decades,

really for the rest of our life, which is increasing climate, chaos, and the downstream effects of that on the economy, on politics, on geo-politics, etc. on science, right? Geoengineering might become more and more desperate as situations get worse and worse. We're already

showing how the world especially the major polluters aren't acting quick

enough or with enough efficiency America has gone through a four-year period where nothing
