Hi everybody this is Scott Sad yesterday I was going through some Twitter nonsense and I saw

that you know people are attributing the Canadian forest fires to climate change.

And so I decided to post a few tweets.

I'll read them here for you,

and then I'll come to the key point of today's clip.

So let me first begin by reading, the climate cultists do not operate in science

because they fail Popper's falsification principle.

For those of you who don't know, Carl Popper was a philosopher of science and the idea behind

the falsification principle is that for something to be within the realm of science, there needs to be the within the realm of science there needs to be an epistemological means

an empirical means by which you can falsify that a proposed theory or hypothesis right so for example as I explained to my students

when I'm talking about this issue

Fate is an unfalsifiable position, right?

Because there is no data that would falsify the concept of faith.

So example, if I walk outside my house and I get hit by a truck, it was my

fate for this to happen. If I go outside and I don't get hit by a truck, it was my fate that this would happen.

So all manifestations of every state of the world is a manifestation of fate.

Therefore, how would you set up an experiment that would falsify

fate? You can't and therefore faith is not within the scientific realm.

And so then I continued, it's too hot climate change.

It's just right climate change. It's too cold climate change. Forest fire, climate

change. No forest fire, climate change, heavy snowfall climate change,

light snowfall climate change, hurricanes climate change, no hurricanes climate change,
