Temperatures on Earth are going to shoot past a key danger point unless we do something to make greenhouse

gas emissions fall faster than all the countries in the world have committed to.

This came from the UN today with the world's top body of climate scientists saying the consequences of inaction are lethal,

but saying there have been signs of progress.

Governments agreed in the Paris Accord in 2015 to keep global warming below 2 degrees

Celsius this century, ideally no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, but temperatures have

already increased over 1.1 Celsius since pre-industrial time and we can measure

this by looking at all the flash floods and the extreme heat the more intense

hurricanes because the oceans are warmer and of course longer burning wildfires looking at you

Australia and California and then factor in shortages of resources, migrations.

Protected global emissions from national pledges place limiting global warming to 1.5 centigrade beyond reach

and make it harder after 2030 to limit warming to 2 degrees Celsius.

It's really bad.

Ongoing investments in fossil fuel infrastructure

and clearing large swaths of forest for agriculture are really undermining all the

curbs and emissions that are needed to meet the Paris goal.

Emissions in 2019 were 12% higher than they were in 2010 and 54% higher than in 1990.

And I'm telling you man, the best part about being a climate science denier is not having to be around when your great-great-grandchildren

curse you for your inaction.
