Hello, good morning. The NFL draft is over, and you are listening to the Shadur Sanders and Friends podcast. Oh, wait a second. This is the Zach Jackson and Friends podcast. Sorry, it's, it's everywhere. It's two days old and I need a cigarette. I've never actually had a cigarette in my life.

But anyway, the Browns draft is in the books. The fifth rounder is the headliner. The move

to get a 2026 first rounder and trade down is bold. It's probably think it's smart all right i don't think in any way

or the brown's immediately positioned to raise a wide receiver the right way there's nothing in their

development history that says that um and and then we you know it's this constant awkward intersection for lack of a better term. And I probably

since this, my job should have a better term, right? Of these guys need to win now. And this is not a

completely barren roster. It should not have been 3 and 14. And the organization should not really be

in the position it's in holistically. Obviously, when you make a move, like the Deshaun Watson move and it blows up, it's going to be bad. And I don't know that anybody can recover. So if you're Andrew Barry specifically, this is the time of the year that he's the star of the show. He's in the spotlight, the crossh you want to call it but if you're all of these guys you're trying to keep your job um you probably

do have a certain level of job security there are outward and inward indications of that we've

talked a lot about that here um but disorganization's in a tough spot, right?

Because you're a zero of ten.

It's a quarterback position.

Your salary cap's in trouble.

Your roster is aging and expensive.

And the expensive part isn't the problem, right?

But they just had a draft where they didn't draft a single offensive lineman, right? So did they have a good draft?

I mean, if we're doing a yes or no here, I'm going to pick yes. What I can say affirmatively, you know, 40-ish hours or so after the draft is over is that it was a

bizarre draft, right? I can say affirmatively that the Browns did add some good players and that's

important. And they're in the position where every single good player counts. But it was bizarre.

It started out looking like it was carefully planned and directed towards the future and looking like it would be about replenishing the lines, which is something we talked about, which is something I'd written about, which is something that for a long term, build, rebuild, whatever term you want to use, was the smart thing.

And then from there, you can't be sure that it was planned. And maybe Carson

Swessinger is the next Clay Matthews, right? And maybe you really needed them because J.O.K.
