0:00.0 | Coming to you live from the cross-country mortgage campus in Barrio, Ohio. This is Cleveland Brown Staley, brought to you by Bali Bat, coming soon to Ohio on 850 ESPN Cleveland. Here are your hosts, bowl Bishop and Nathan Zagura. |
0:28.0 | All right, let's do a live on a first Friday miracle edition of the program. Coach Defansky available here momentarily. We'll go to that as soon as it comes. How you living, buddy? I'm good, man. I'm good, you know, I like beanie season. I'm not afraid of a little. I love that beanie. A hoodie beanie season. Yeah, we got to get you out of these, right? Are we still working on that? Well, I don't have any authority on this building. Well, neither do I, but I'm trying. I'm trying. I'm going to work on that. Certain. Certain places I have authority. You have great authority. Great. |
0:58.0 | Certain areas, places of great importance of some consequence. Yeah, not here. Not here. I don't think that's true. I think you do have some authority. Just you're. There used to be a swag looks great today. Yeah, the swag. This is swag. This is peak swagness. Yeah, he's great. And here's the early early winter late fall early winter late fall is his peak time. And it's because of the layering. Yeah, he knows how to layer. He's got things layered out in a such in a way. I mean, he is just he's a walking catalog. |
1:28.0 | Here's coach at the podium football team. Got to make sure that we have a really, really good week started this morning with our meetings getting to know this team. It's they're very, very good. It's it's an impressive roster. Really players up and down the roster offense defense special teams. Very well coached know a lot of their coaches know what they're about. So they play good football. So like most weeks to go on the road and and try and find a win versus a really good football team. You got to. |
1:58.0 | Make sure that you do all those things that we talk about in going on the road taking care of the football playing sound playing complimentary all those things. So really today is about getting to know Buffalo and then getting out in the field and getting some work done. So with that, I'll take any questions. Kevin, the snowstorm that's getting hit Buffalo. Could that impact like when you guys go down there and then other other contingencies you're looking at. I'm sure it could. I'm sure some people are having some conversations about that. |
2:28.0 | I'm not in that circle right now. They'll fill me in. You know, need to know. But for us, we just have to focus on our preparation. And if something changes, we'll tell the players. We'll tell you guys. You know if there's a chance they would move the game to another to a neutral location. I have no idea. Now I've been part of neutral location games. You guys can do your homework on that one. You said that you can't control the weather. So you just have to deal with it. You think you've dealt with it well. |
2:58.0 | I still feel that way this week, you know, speaking of the weather, we'll deal with it. Yeah. I mean, does that weather affect you? Yes. Is it an excuse? No. I mean, every team that goes down there has to deal with that. There are certain things that you can do. Tony from hydration and messaging and things that we did to try to address those things. You do that each week. But it's not an excuse. |
3:28.0 | The guys will wind it. Yeah, I mean, it's hard because I don't want to I don't want to dispute that it was hot. But every team that goes down there and plays Miami, you're in the sun for the first half. That's how their stadium is designed. So you're going to be hot. And that's why we tried to rotate as many guys as we did. But again, it's part of the elements of football. It's an outdoor game. It's what we have to deal with. |
3:58.0 | Are you going to get to Sean first team reps this week? Yeah, obviously, as you guys know, to Sean in practice today, he was able to be part of the walkthrough for the first time this morning. So I'm not going to get into the specifics of what reps he's getting, which Kobe's getting, what Josh stops is getting. We really don't do that for any of the guys. But it's going to be good to have him out there practice with his teammates going to escalate as you get closer to him playing like more and more. I'm not going to get into specifics, but again, this is the next step for him. |
4:28.0 | It's good to have him back out in the field. It's one of the ones we asked the players questions. And actually, Sean is a subject. So how do you keep that from from being a distraction that you prepare for the belt? We talked about it this morning, Jeff, you know, he's eligible to practice with the team. But what's important is that we do everything we can to find a way to get a win versus Buffalo. And that's where the players focuses. |
4:58.0 | Offseason because Jacobi and Dishonored splitting reps and the preseason all that. Did you have a plan for what the reps split would be like at this point in time? Or did you just as the season went on and say, okay, we're going to split it up. Yeah, I think as you remember, Kimberly, that things were changing in the moment there with some of those details of suspension, those type of things. And then once you know the rules, |
5:28.0 | of the return to play, that's when we really accelerated the conversations on what it should look like when he's eligible to practice. So that's where we are now. |
5:36.4 | Maybe the challenge of balancing, you know, getting Jacobi ready to play because you got two huge games coming up and then also getting Sean ready to play, especially in light of the fact he hasn't played in two seasons. Yeah, I think that was, you know, a big part of our offseason. And then the spring and in the summer getting the Sean reps. I think you banked those reps. I think he has a lot of reps that he can relate to. |
5:57.9 | He can rely on and can watch the tape of him running plays that he'll be asked to run when it's time for him to play. |
6:05.2 | But the most important thing right now is getting ready for Buffalo and getting Jacobi ready to play. |
6:11.6 | Can you use your little transition coming up a quarterback? How do you prevent it from being awkward? |
6:17.1 | Yeah, I think you guys know the two parties at hand here. These are professionals. These are good people. They're friends. |
6:25.2 | I think that's probably the most important thing. How do you find comfort and knowledge in a situation like this? |
6:31.4 | And I know you don't want to get into details of the reps and what not. But how do you just find what you need to feel comfortable that this plan is right? |
6:38.5 | And it's going to work out how you want to make both sides of Jacobi and Watson comfortable. |
6:42.7 | Yeah, I don't. I think ultimately I don't know that there's a handbook. So for us, we're just with the information available to us. |
6:50.2 | Try to make good decisions for the team. Again, the Sean can come back to practice. That's the next step. |
