It is September 11th, 2017, 16 year anniversary from the terrorist attack that occurred on September 11th, 2001.

It's a day that, you know, I don't know if I realized at the time the impact it was going to have on my life.

And I've talked about this before I think, but I woke up just in time, maybe a minute or two before the second aircraft went into the World Trade Center.

I actually saw it live on the news how the trajectory of my life change is very hard to describe.

I remember that morning very vividly, but what I think I remember more about the time period around 9-11 was the weeks, probably the days and maybe a few weeks after.

The feeling of solidarity that we had as a country. I have never seen so many American flags.

I have never seen people so compassionate with one another.

You know, and everything from opening doors for people to being more patient in the grocery store line.

I mean, it was a palpable difference. I wish we felt that more often in this country because it was certainly fleeting.

It lasted for, like I said, maybe, maybe days, maybe weeks, but it certainly didn't last forever.

And then we went right back to business as usual.

I'm going to tie into 9-11 a little bit.

I'm going to fill a little podcast for today. So I took some questions from the internet.

People often hit me up about my military background and experience.

I'm trying to get myself to a point in my life where people would be surprised to hear that I actually have that background and experience because I think it's.

Or it's not that I think, but I want it to be only a portion of who I am and not the foundation of who I am.

But the question that I got hit up with the most was, you know, the top five things that I learned from my time in military service.

And then, in addition to that, what does it mean to me to always be ready and always be prepared?

Because of the two that I'm going to go with given the fact that it is, in fact, the anniversary of 9-11 and I think they tie in well.
