Our first guest will be George Hawkins, head of D.C. Water, which is a not-for-profit municipal water utility,

serving the District of Columbia. It's known for being innovative, environmentally focused,

It's a model for the rest of our country.

This is particularly relevant in light of the wastewater treatment issues caused by the

recent hurricanes, Harvey and Irma and Maria. That's the water

But first, George Hawkins serves as chief executive officer and general manager of DC

water, which is a public utility that distributes drinking water and collects and treats

wastewater for more than 672,000 residents and nearly 18 million annual visitors

to the District of Columbia. D.C. water also provides wholesale wastewater treatment services for 1.6 million people in Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia.
