A lot of different news to hit you with here as you head into your weekend.

I'm Clay Travists of course, Bucksexton out today will be back with me on Monday and I'm sure

we're going to have a lot to talk about then as well, but I want to update you on several different

stories that are playing out right now. A novelist, Salman Rushdie, has had a thought

while out on him put there by the Iranian government since 1989. He was stabbed this morning

as he prepared to speak. There is a video of him being airlifted to a hospital in the New York area.

We've been trying to keep you updated. I've tried not to get too far ahead one way or the other

of these details because it is very difficult to know exactly what is going on as you can

well imagine in the Twitter space. There are a lot of witnesses to this stabbing. He was preparing to

speak. We don't know who committed the stabbing, what the motivation might be, but we do know that

the Iranian government has had a fought what a hit out on him for what he wrote in his novel,

The Satanic Versus, which came out in 1989. Now this is an incredibly skilled novelist who has

written many different books. That has been a long time since 1989, but given the connection,
