Summary

Biden's Justice Department announces an investigation into Trump’s actions in Jan. 6 criminal probe. It said investigators are examining the former president’s conversations and have seized phone records of top aides. Clay says, "If Trump truly believes that there was fraud and, if he reliably listened to his attorneys and followed their legal advice in any way, which I think he did, there is no crime here." Buck says, "To try to charge a former president with a political crime is Third World banana republic stuff. We all know it." The campaign strategy for 2022 and beyond is focused solely on Trump. Clay analyzes, "If you're really worried about democracy, would you be spending millions of dollars to make sure that Republicans, in your mind, are nominating Trump-focused nominees" Democrats don't realize they're making Trump stronger. CNN Poll: 75% of Democratic voters want someone other than Biden in 2024. Trump: "We should not allow men to play in women's sports." Kamala Harris: "I am Kamala Harris, my pronouns are she and her, and I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit."

1:09.8	Buck, my general thoughts were I wasn't surprised because I've kind of been anticipating that some
1:15.4	story like this would come out because Mayor Garland is under such pressure in the wake of all
1:20.7	of the January 6th investigations to try and hold Donald Trump accountable for the insurrection
1:27.7	as they call it and the attack against democracy even as Democrats right now are supporting
1:34.1	Donald Trump fielded candidates because they think they're better able to be beaten.
1:38.3	If you're really worried about democracy, would you be spending millions of dollars to make sure
1:43.6	that Republicans in your mind are nominating Trump focused nominees, but did this surprise you
1:52.4	at all that the news came down that it would come from a member of the Biden administration
1:58.1	effectively in the Washington Post, which does default PR for the Biden administration.
