Welcome to Cafferowcast everyone. I have the great clay haze on the podcast with me just back from the most recent season of alone what's going on man how to go.

Everything went good. I'm sitting on top of the hill behind my house the sunny day in north Idaho and enjoying the nice weather.

Cool cool well how I know you can't go into too too many details but have you gained all your way back I'm assuming you lost some.

Yeah yeah I'm back to my normal weight about 155 160 and have an around there cool cool well why don't I want you tell everybody a little bit about yourself kind of what you do some of the places you've got a lot of

informational stuff out on YouTube kind of where everybody can check that out yeah absolutely.

So yeah I basically folks know me from my YouTube content which is focused around traditional archery and and bow building do a lot of health both stuff.

I'll hack a tree down and and with a bow out of it and I do a bunch of bow hunting videos using those both but my website is twisted save dot com.

The people always I got to change that man people always like the only one talking about but there's a bunch of videos on there and and different things like that and of course my my YouTube channel.

Yeah a bunch of videos on there showing people how to make both how to shoot those you know bow hunting videos things like that yeah how how long ago to start shooting traditional archery I think well I had a my brother found a little bit piercing recurve and brought it home to me when I was I don't know 11 or 12.

And so I started shooting that but I started really like you know 100% committed to it when I was I don't know 18 maybe so how would have been 1999 started making those.

And and started hunting with them and I've done I've hunted almost exclusively exclusively with self those since that time okay so so people understand and actually let me let me rewind so clay.

Has given me a I wouldn't say a rash of shit but a little bit here and there when I first started in 2016 and in total honesty I've had to eat a little crow some of the things he said definitely I'm a lot more in agreement with now than I was in 2016 just coming from a compound but you have you you are kind of the.

What do I want to call it I have recently gained the nickname tradbo Jesus because of Braden who's a smart ass but you would technically be probably one of the original tradbo Jesus is you have an insane following but you have never really shot like the stereotypical three piece you know custom recurve or longbow or you have an in quite some time I mean your deal is kind of you may not shoot as big of an animal sometimes but it's more.

It's more of the adventure and getting closer think things like that I mean you really seem to preach those types of things yeah I mean I think anybody that really has a love for hunting can have a great experience whether or not they kill something I mean it's and that's what it really is about for me it's about having a great experience I mean I was out turkey out with my young young son just the other day and get out with it by a turkey by a bird with a brain inside of a peanut.

And had a great time because we saw we saw in strutton heard him gobble you know we were back and forth talking to him and didn't didn't get in a bird that day but we still had a great time and that's that's part of that experience of talking about.

Gotcha for guys that are getting into it I certainly do not try to sell people on making your own bone or do I think I'll ever probably dive into it quite that deep I don't I don't it's not my thing but I am there's a lot of people that are into that what some advice you would give to guys as far as just getting you know into hunting I know you take you like you said your kids out you're all about you know the camaraderie getting other people in the outdoors but I don't know what you're doing.

I'm not going to be in the outdoors but what advice would you would you have for guys you know I get that question should I get a compound or a stick bow.

Give your your feelings on that I I know you you have.

I want to make sure people understand the background you have some people get on here and they're like oh it's another stick bow guy and you're not very good at selling yourself obviously because I'm trying to help you do it so kind of what advice would you give people and how you know how long have you been doing this how many animals have you taken.

You know have you been doing it with you know your own self made bow like to help me out here and rub some fun kind of man like brag about yourself for Christ sake.

I am not very good at bag about myself but I'll try so I like I said I started shooting a repair when I was probably 10 or 11 but then I you know that was pre you to pre Google you know that was back in a well dial update.

And so there really wasn't a whole lot of information on traditional archery and that's where my heart always was in stick bows but I didn't have the information I didn't you know I didn't know anybody that shot a
