Since it's Christmas time, and this is our Christmas Eve show, let's talk about Santa Claus.

Take you on a little journey around the world with how Santa Claus is celebrated today, but also the

history of Santa Claus. There was a real guy that Santa is based on, and I think we should

all know about him, because there are some lessons from the real Santa Claus, apart from the

reindeer's and the jolly red nose and the suit of red with white

fur and all this stuff and the bag full of toys and the naughty and nice list and all that stuff,

there's a real history to this.

Let's dive in.

First, it's fascinating to see how Santa Claus, who started off, and we're going to get into this,

inspired by St. Nicholas, a fourth century bishop known for his generosity.

But today, there are many variations on this.

Like in the Netherlands, he's known as Sinterklaas.

Sinterkoss is depicted as a stately bishop dressed in red robes,

and he arrives by boat from Spain, accompanied by his helpers, known as Piten.
