Today we go back to February 2015. Following atheist Stephen Fry's viral anti-god video,

the question of how a good god could allow suffering came into focus again.

Justin Briley was joined by Christian philosopher Vince Vitale, author of Why Suffering,

as he debated the issues with atheist thinker Julian Beguini.

Hello and welcome to the program. I'm Justin Briley and today on Unbelievably,

we're discussing the problem of evil and asking if there is a god, why does he allow suffering?

Or joining me as usual are a Christian and atheist guest.

Vince Vitale is senior tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.

His latest book, Carwatered with the Ravi Zacharias, is called Why Suffering,

and aims to give a range of helpful responses to a question that simply never goes away.

Here to dialogue with Vince is Julian Beguini, he's a philosopher and author who writes on a variety

of subjects including religious belief. As an atheist he'll be explaining why the problem of

suffering presents challenges for belief in god. So Vince and Julian thank you for joining me
