House in London back in November 2010.

It was part of a UK tour by intelligent design proponent Mike Behe.

And I had the opportunity to bring him together with noted scientist and priest Michael Rice,

an advocate of theistic evolution.

I'm going to concentrate on the question should intelligent design be taught as science

because I think that's the controversial part of it.

And my answer is a qualified yes.

If any other theory that purports to explain the appearance of design in nature is taught

as science, then yes it should be.

And the arguments I'm going to use today have been published in a book called Divine Action

and Natural Selection about a year ago and this is taken from my chapter in that book.

And in that I noted that science, the word science is not co extensive with rationality.

Science is the activity of investigating nature by means of systematic observation, measurement

and classification.

But other modes of reasoning are more fundamental than science.
