How do you go about researching a new book?

Do you get suggestions from your publishers as to a new title or what?

No, it's never really through the publisher.

It's just basically, you know, me doing research and then finding something that

potentially looks like it could be an interesting story and then approaching a publisher

to see if they are interested.

It's usually that simple.

It's very, very rarely that, you know, a publisher will say, can you do a book on this?
