Summary

Long-time UFO investigator and amateur paleontologist Ray Stanford returns to The Paracast to talk about his storied nearly 60-year career in the field. Many of you are aware that Chris personally feels that Ray is probably the most important figure involved in UFO research. Recorded in 2014, he also discussed the 50-year anniversary of the Soccoro, NM UFO case, which is regarded as one of the most compelling classic sightings of all time. He'll also talk about many of the figures in the field that he has known since the early 1950s, and will give you an update on his ongoing research into the phenomenon.

Well, we had a great show last week.

Lloyd Hourback, certainly one of our best guests. I think our listeners agree.

Because I'm looking at the comments made. There aren't a lot of them, but those who did listen to him really enjoyed what he had to say. It was one of our most downloaded episodes.

And I was very impressed by his level-headed approach to the whole subject,

0:55.7

by the fact that he's not afraid to be appropriately skeptical. Right. Well, we're going to have three

in a row, a trifecto, with level-headed experts. Right. And we'll get into that in the moment.

This is one where anytime we have this guest on, it's going to be direct,

1:12.8

it's going to be forthright, and we'll even worry as we progress whether he'll get so ornery,

1:18.5

he'll just leave. So that could happen. Yeah, it could. You know, all bets are off. We'll explain

1:25.7

that in a few moments. Okay.

So, as most of you know, despite one's better judgment, I am a member of Mufon and have been

for quite a long time.

1:36.2

We know that Mufon has this TV show that uses their name called Hanger One, which has got

1:43.1

an incredible amount of criticisms because of

1:47.2

the fact that they've put on some cases there for the sensational value, not because these

cases are necessarily credible. Or even Mufon reports. Right. So was it the old story of Jackie Gleason and one of the presidents seeing the

little gray men or whatever? You know, it's for nonsense. But I'm looking here at the May 2014

edition of Mufon's journal, issue number 553. So imagine this. They've published 553 monthly magazines. And that's a lot of

stuff. There's a lot of information. And in this one, Jan Harzan, who's their international
