we're showcasing a few programs from our back cat log.

As usual, the music's been shortened for right reasons.

This week's guest is Monty Python comic Terry Jones.

He was cast away by Roy Plumley in 1983.

This week our cast away is one sixth of the Monty Python lot, one of the less tall ones.

He's a script writer, a film director, a lyricist, a medievalist, a fishing personator.

It's Terry Jones.

Terry, have you ever experienced loneliness in your life?

Well, I think that was a child.

Although I wasn't alone now, I sort of had a very good family life, really.

I found isolation with something that I sought.

I would sort of go away and hide upstairs and write poems.

Were you an owner, Joe?

No, I had a brother. I've got a brother.

Older or younger?

He's older than me, he has.

But my family, I was very much trying to be on my own, usually actually sitting in the garage

when it was raining. That was a very important time.

We were just finding some small place in the house where I could get away from the television set

or whatever else was going on.

And scribble little verses on the paper.
