Summary

Here’s another chance to hear my interview with Ossie Ardiles from season five.

Ossie was a truly magical midfielder, who played for his hometown side Instituto de Córdoba while both doing his military service and attending university. The fact that he didn’t have time for politics may have saved his life – many of his fellow students were ‘disappeared’ during the darkest period of Argentina’s history.

There’s also amazing content about playing through injury to win the 1978 World Cup under legendary coach César Luis Menotti.

And we hear about life at Tottenham when war broke out between the UK and Argentina in 1982.
