Alison Chains was riding a massive wave of success after the release of their second album, Dirt.

0:18.0

The record launched them onto mainstream radio with five hit singles, and it led to the

0:23.1

band being added as an opening act for Ozzy's No More Tours Tour, and after that, they joined

0:29.1

Lollapalooza as a co-headliner. It was a whirlwind ride for the band, but their rock star life

0:35.5

came to a screeching halt when Allison Chains returned home

1:08.5

hit records. I'm Kathy Kinsorra from History of the 90s, and this is

1:24.8

members of Allison Chains quickly became bored and a little depressed

1:28.6

over their living arrangements. To cheer themselves up, they came up with the idea to record

1:33.5

some new music. So they called in up-and-coming producer Toby Wright to help them out. The problem

1:40.0

was, after Wright arrived at the studio, he learned that Allison Chains had nothing written yet,

1:45.7

and nothing to record. Wright told AV Club in 2014 when he said,

1:51.0

Okay guys, let's hear those songs. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell smiled and said,

1:55.7

Funny thing about those songs, we don't have any. Wright laughed and said,

2:01.1

So what do you guys want to do for the next 10 days?
