Okay, there's the weirdest way that people are making more money in the United States.

And I'm going to fill you in on it and just a little while.

There is something that we are failing to do that is costing lives and injuries that never really occurred to me.

It's a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

And Americans more and more are rioting in Uber cars, Lyft cars, any of a number of ways we're ending up in the backseat of vehicles.

And we ride on shuttle buses, all things like that. And what do we not do?

We don't even think about putting on a seatbelt.

Now that's inspired the fact that front seat drivers and passengers now wear seatbelts 90% of the time.

So people in the backseat for some reason feel it must not be dangerous because there's no requirement you wear seatbelts in the backseat of a car or when you're on a shuttle van.

But did you ever take physics in school?

You know about momentum, your vehicle suddenly stops, where do you end up?

You keep going at the speed the vehicle was going before. And it's ending very, very badly for people in shuttle buses and in the backseat of vehicles.

And overwhelmingly people aren't buckling up in the back. When they don't, they're eight times more likely to end up killed.

Eight times more likely. So generally I'll tell you what I've been doing when I'm in an Uber lift car.

I normally don't put on my seatbelt in the backseat unless the driver turns out to be a lunatic.

It's true. It's true. If the driver is a little aggressive behind the wheel, I'm slapping on that seatbelt.
