Of late, there's a category that people have spent more time focusing on than any other

that we go to stores to do and that's grocery shopping.

There's been a lot of tumult and the grocery business, lead ol' LIDL, the huge German supermarket

chain has established a beach head in the United States, Amazon buying whole foods has

brought some focus to it.

Every store claims to have low prices or the lowest prices but who really does?

The Sun Sentinel newspaper from South Florida went out and surveyed what the prices were

on a typical market basket of goods.

At a variety of the big players, Walmart, the nation's largest supermarket chain because

it's Florida, they track the huge regional supermarket chain publics which usually comes

in at the top of the heap or near it and consumer surveys on customer satisfaction in supermarkets,

trader Joe's, they did whole foods because of the recent purchase of Amazon, fresh market

and all D.

So the absolute cheapest place to shop and it wasn't even close on the market basket

of goods was Aldi.

Aldi was far and away the cheapest and it was a price margin that was the kind of thing

there would be an advertiser's dream.

And second place, trader Joe's.
