general who has decided to punish people to the extreme who are nonviolent drug offenders.

I think it is backwards, idiotic, mean spirited, and harmful to society, but most harmful

to you and me as taxpayers.

I think about the very conservative Republican governor of Georgia who has implemented a

program that is getting raves across America with diversion programs for people who are drug

addicted or have mental illness that have committed nonviolent crime that are diverted

into various forms of treatment at a tiny fraction of the cost of prison.

And the result, recidivism is way down and crime is down as well.

Now, there's a new report that in the state of California, it costs just under $76,000
