Summary

Is Leviticus just offering advice about medical health? Is it identifying homosexual acts as sinful, or just potentially unhealthy? Can we calmly and carefully try to understand the passage in context? I hope so. I think that the overall context of the passage makes its application pretty clear, and even though our current culture tends to misunderstand this as condemning certain kinds of people instead of certain kinds of behavior, we simply cannot be biblically faithful without standing our ground on this topic. This is just one question from a long interview I did for the moderators of the r/Bible subreddit. They asked their subreddit to send me a bunch of questions and I spent a lot of time preparing so that I would be able to offer the best answers I could. 0:07.2	thou shalt not lie with mankind as with woman kind. It is abomination. Should this be interpreted
0:13.2	as is or is it more likely medicinal advice not spreading diseases? Does this mark homosexuality

1:11.8	observe Passover, he doesn't punish other nations for not observing Passover because he never
1:15.3	told them to do it. So is this for Israel for all people? Well, let me read to you guys,
1:20.0	Leviticus 18, twenty through twenty five. Listen to the context here. I think it answers our
1:25.6	questions for us. You shall not have intercourse with your neighbor's wife to be defiled with her.
1:30.5	Okay, that's probably not medicinal. This is like, don't do adultery. This is about adultery,
1:35.6	right? You shall not give any of your offspring over to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your
1:39.5	God. I am the Lord. Well, that had to do with taking your kids and they would burn them alive
1:44.0	as an offering to Molech. They've burned their children. They're living children alive. They
1:49.0	burn them. Okay, that's obviously this is a pretty extreme thing. The next verse, you shall not lie
1:54.0	with the male as one lives with the female. It's an abomination. Next verse, also you shall not
