Summary

You know what you’re seeing of someone else’s life as you scroll isn’t the whole story and yet we all find ourselves longing for that perfect vacation, that look of pure delight on their child’s face, or the silent moments they were able to enjoy.

We all know “comparison is the thief of joy,” and we should run from it. But what if, rather than try to immediately silence or distract whatever we’re feeling in those moments, we got curious about what’s going on inside? What if we could filter what we see and discern what is for us and what isn’t?

In Christ, God has given us a treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, is available to us all the time. We can use that wisdom to guide us as we uncover the “why” behind our comparisons and help us recognize our God-given boundaries.

0:48.2	I noticed in interactions with moms that oftentimes we can see something, whether it's online
0:56.3	or whether we're visiting a friend and we're in her living room.
0:59.6	It's kind of like the old, keeping up with the Joneses.
1:02.0	We compare, we contrast, and we can often believe the lie and be deceived in thinking that
1:08.8	our parenting, our mothering is wrong because it is different.
1:13.6	Or that maybe if we had the means or the family structure or the dynamics of another family,
1:23.4	then our lives would be better.
1:25.3	And the enemy wants to come in and constantly deceive us and to believe that contentment
1:31.4	and satisfaction is to be found elsewhere.
1:35.2	And I want to help you have clarity and peace in knowing how God made your family right
1:43.2	now in this season.
1:45.0	I think with my book that's coming out in April called Right Where You Belong, I've really
1:49.4	just narrowed in on this concept of figuring out the boundary lines of the space God has
1:54.3	given you and in this context, the boundary lines of your family.
